Bank Statement to QuickBooks® Online CSV Tool

To get a bank statement into QuickBooks® Online, download it as a CSV and reshape it into the 3-column (Date, Description, Amount) or 4-column (Date, Description, Credit, Debit) layout for manual upload; this free tool does that reshaping in your browser. Banks offer CSV downloads, but QuickBooks® Online’s manual upload expects a specific layout. This free tool reshapes a bank or card statement CSV into the 3-column or 4-column layout it asks for. Add your file, check the date, description and amount columns, and download the new CSV.

It helps with things that commonly make an upload fail or look wrong: date formats, signs on amounts, zero amounts and number-only descriptions. Files over the upload size or line limit are split into parts, and a list shows any rows it could not read.

It works with CSV files only: it does not read PDF statements, it does not create .qbo files, and it does not connect to QuickBooks or your bank. The 350 KB and 1,000-line limits come from Intuit’s help page, “Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online”, and can change, so check that page.
